Subject: A Message from Fispoints - Built by alpine skiers, for alpine skiers
Dear athletes, coaches, parents and peers,
I'm Lucas Alvarez Moran, an alpine skier (Fiscode 491991), part time coach, and co-creator with my father of Fispoints.com.
Today, I'm writing to share something important about the future of Fispoints - a project that was born out of our shared passion for the slopes and competition and to improve the world of alpine skiing.
Fispoints isn't just another service; it's a platform built by ski racers for ski racers. We understand the drive to analyze performance, track progress, and push boundaries because we live it ourselves. But as much as Fispoints is fueled by passion, the reality is that maintaining and improving it requires resources.
The revenue from our paid app is what keeps the engine running - paying for servers, development, and the systems that allow us to bring this service to you. Every download directly supports the tools and analytics that help you measure your performance against the best. Without enough support, it may become difficult to continue offering this platform or expand it with the advanced features we know the ski community needs.
We want to be transparent - selling an app is not easy. Nearly half of what we make goes to platforms and taxes, leaving a small portion to sustain and grow Fispoints. Yet, we remain committed to keeping this project alive, driven by the belief that skiers deserve a platform made specifically for them.
From our end we can see the interest is there, in December 2024 we registered more than 1 million pages served, with a high-water mark of 52,000 pages in just one day (in mid December 2024).
If you've found value in Fispoints, consider supporting us by purchasing the app. Every app helps to ensure that we can keep building and refining this platform - not just for now, but for the seasons ahead.
There are around 15,000 skiers with an active license. In order to break-even and continue this enterprise we need to sell around 1.000 apps. This is having less than 7% of athletes as paying partners. So far we've sold around 170 apps across and iOS and Android... This is not even close to what we need to keep the lights on.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Your passion and support fuel what we do.
See you at the finish line,
Lucas :)
